Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association desired; Certification as an Occupational Therapist from the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT); Certification as a Registered Occupational Therapist from the State of Michigan; Must be able to obtain certificate of child abuse/neglect clearance from DHS
Identifies the impact of an individual’s cognitive, emotional and/or physical disability on that individual’s ability to perform occupations, including daily routines/activities and social roles. Collaborates in the development of strategies for remediation of obstacles of occupational performance and enhancement of strengths and interests to optimize functioning. Consults with staff providing training and monitoring of treatment plan implementation to ensure effectiveness and develop alternative interventions as needed by performing the following duties. Provides consultation to contracted and skill-building programs. Assists to obtain necessary adaptive equipment and/or support as needed for insurance requirements.
